Since 1994, I have taught every level of math from algebra through calculus, spending the bulk of my career teaching on Chicago's North Shore, where I taught Algebra 2/Trigonometry Honors, Precalculus, and AP Calculus BC before retiring in June 2026.
Students learn mathematics best not by memorizing procedures, but by exploring, testing, and discovering how the math actually works. That belief has shaped my career-long focus on classroom technology, particularly computer algebra systems (CAS), which turn abstract concepts into hands-on investigation rather than rote calculation.
Key Leadership & Impact
TI-Regional Instructor: Officially certified in 2018 as a Texas Instruments (TI) Regional Instructor; co-authored a one-day professional development workshop on leveraging the TI-Innovator Rover in the math classroom.
Conference Presenter: Presented at numerous local and national conferences — including MMC, USACAS, ICTM, NCTM, and T3IC — on topics ranging from CAS-driven engagement to bridging coding with calculus.
MEECAS Board Service: Served on the board of MEECAS, which hosted the USACAS International Conference on Chicago's North Shore in 2019.
